Tear trough filler could be just the touch to help you bounce back with a brighter, refreshed and healthier-looking glow.
If you feel you look forever tired, even though you’re wide awake, there’s every chance it’s because you’re noticing sunken and dark, semi-circular grooves just below the eyes.
Brightening eye creams and concealers will help to mask these purplish tones, but only to a degree. That’s because the skin here is naturally much thinner so the underlying muscle shows through.
And such products alone can’t address the hollowing effect that leaves unsightly under-eye shadows. Neither can good hydration and sleep.
⇩ Shadowban: my decision to diminish dark circles
Thankfully, the correct placement of appropriate dermal filler can solve this by softening the ridge that forms in the junction between the cheek and lower eyelid.
Gently supporting the tear troughs by adding subtle volume in the right fat pads reduces the shadows that form so you’ll look not only well-rested and more vibrant, but potentially more youthful too.
This is because we generally associate wider, deeper sockets with age: the result of a gradual enlarging of the eye cavities and the steady, natural shrinking and descent of facial fat. Collagen and elastin production also slows from our late twenties onwards.
Whether you know them as eye bags, tear troughs or dark circles, as a specialist in peri-orbital non-surgical treatments, Dr Zimu is ideally placed to help address your under-eye concerns.
Will this filler treatment damage my eyes?
A flexible, blunt-tipped cannula is used. Anatomically, there’s also a thick septum that separates the eyes from where the filler is placed. These factors help make it a very safe treatment.
Is tear trough filler painful?
It’s actually a very comfortable procedure. The sensation is an unfamiliar pressure rather than pain. It takes no more than two-three minutes per eye.
Can tear trough filler go wrong?
In experienced hands, this is unlikely. The filler is placed under the orbicularis muscle so that when you smile or speak, the movement looks natural.
